TDK B32724A9605K000: A 900 V DC-Link BOM and MOQ Review

The short answer: TDK introduced its B3272*A/G/T high-temperature DC-link capacitor family on September 30, 2026, and B32724A9605K000 is a specific 900 V DC, 6.0 µF, ±10% bulk part in that family. Buyers and engineers working on automotive or industrial power conversion should freeze the full ordering code, check the 2,128-piece minimum against demand, validate the temperature-dependent voltage limit and board fit, and request target-region ATP plus an updated quotation before releasing the BOM. A single European distributor snapshot is useful for planning, but it is not global availability.

Concept visualization: the exact ordering code, electrical rating and mechanical envelope matter more than a family-level label.

What changed

Verified fact. In a manufacturer announcement dated September 30, 2026, TDK presented the B3272*A/G/T family for demanding automotive and industrial DC-link applications. The family spans 800 V to 1,200 V DC, 1.0 µF to 60 µF, two- and four-pin versions, and three lead spacings. TDK lists on-board chargers, xEV traction inverters, automotive DC-DC converters, industrial drives and high-end power supplies among the intended applications.

Engineering judgment. The news is useful because it expands the design space for thermally constrained power electronics. It does not, by itself, prove that a particular member fits an existing footprint, ripple-current profile, safety margin or approved vendor list. The family name is not an orderable substitute for a complete MPN.

Recommended action. Treat the launch as a reason to open a controlled qualification and sourcing review—not as permission to make a family-level BOM swap.

What the exact MPN commits you to

The June 2026 TDK datasheet identifies B32724A9605K000 as the following combination:

Attribute Verified value Why it matters
Rated voltage 900 V DC at the rated condition Must be checked against the real DC bus, transient and derating policy.
Capacitance 6.0 µF Changes stored energy, ripple sharing and control-loop behavior.
Tolerance K code, ±10% Affects worst-case capacitance and current distribution.
Case envelope 16.0 × 30.0 × 31.5 mm maximum Requires keep-out, height and assembly clearance review.
Lead format Two leads, 27.5 mm spacing Must match the PCB footprint; the 37.5 mm family variants are different parts.
Delivery mode 000, untaped bulk Changes receiving, kitting and PCBA handling assumptions.
Datasheet quantity 2,128 pieces per MOQ entry Creates a working-capital and consumption-risk decision.

Boundary. Other B3272*A/G/T ordering codes may be useful candidates, but each candidate requires validation. A different voltage digit, capacitance code, tolerance letter, pin layout or package suffix can change electrical, mechanical and commercial conditions.

The +135°C claim needs a derating check

TDK says the family can operate at a maximum case temperature of +135°C and requires no voltage derating up to +105°C. For the 900 V group that includes B32724A9605K000, however, the datasheet table states Vop,135°C = 495 V DC. That is the crucial design boundary: “rated for operation up to +135°C” does not mean “900 V remains permissible at +135°C.”

The datasheet also describes an EPN dielectric based on polypropylene and cyclic olefin copolymer, a flame-retardant case and epoxy seal, and AEC-Q200E compliance. The announcement describes the series as AEC-Q200E qualified. Those statements support a serious automotive review, but they do not replace project-level stress analysis, supplier documentation control or the customer’s component-approval process.

Concept visualization: qualification should measure the real case temperature, voltage stress and current profile together.

Engineering recommendation. Recalculate allowable operating voltage at the expected case temperature, verify ripple-current and self-heating limits at the switching spectrum, and test representative worst-case conditions. Include transient voltage, cooling tolerance, busbar inductance, capacitor-bank sharing and end-of-life drift in the review.

MOQ, lead time and ATP boundaries

Verified channel snapshot. On October 4, 2026, the Mouser Europe exact-MPN page marked the part as a new product and Non-Stocked, showed an estimated factory production time of 16 weeks, and required a minimum and multiple of 2,128 pieces. The displayed European price was €2.96 per piece at 2,128 pieces.

Observation boundary. That page is one regional, time-sensitive channel view. It is not global ATP, a binding factory commitment or evidence of a market-wide shortage. The 16-week field is not an industry average. Price, lead time and availability can change before order acceptance, and this run has no same-region historical snapshot that would justify a rising or falling trend claim.

Procurement judgment. The bigger immediate issue is not the headline unit price; it is the coupling of zero displayed stock, a 2,128-piece order increment and a new-product production window. A buyer should model excess exposure, forecast coverage and schedule risk before treating the price break as economical.

Engineering review before BOM release

  1. Confirm the operating point. Record nominal and maximum DC bus voltage, repetitive and non-repetitive transients, switching frequency, expected RMS ripple current and mission-profile temperature.
  2. Use case temperature, not ambient alone. Model internal heating and nearby heat sources, then measure case temperature at the defined load and cooling conditions.
  3. Check the mechanical interface. Verify the 27.5 mm lead pitch, maximum 16.0 × 30.0 × 31.5 mm envelope, lead length, creepage, clearance, keep-outs and vibration support.
  4. Review the bank, not only one capacitor. Confirm current sharing, ESL, busbar geometry, discharge behavior, fusing strategy and tolerance stacking across the full capacitor bank.
  5. Close qualification evidence. Obtain the controlled datasheet revision, required AEC-Q200E evidence, material declarations, change-notification terms and traceability expectations for the target program.

Any proposed alternate complete ordering code is a candidate that requires validation. Do not infer equivalence from the B3272 family prefix, the same nominal capacitance or the same voltage headline.

Procurement actions for the next RFQ

Send an RFQ that names B32724A9605K000 exactly and asks for target-country ATP, allocation status, committed ship dates, date or lot-code expectations, minimum and multiple, NCNR terms, packaging, traceability and a time-stamped updated quotation. Ask the supplier to separate prototype, pilot and production quantities rather than blending them into one promise.

For the internal decision, calculate consumption against the 2,128-piece increment and include scrap, engineering builds, qualification units, storage conditions and forecast uncertainty. If the MOQ is uneconomic, return to engineering with explicit requirements—900 V class, 6.0 µF, tolerance, 27.5 mm pitch, thermal profile and qualification level—so that alternate MPN candidates can be evaluated without silently relaxing the design.

If you want a second check before release, send the BOM, target quantity, destination, required date and PCBA constraints through our component sourcing contact page. Informic can support an engineering review and an updated quotation without treating a channel snapshot as guaranteed supply.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is B32724A9605K000 a 900 V, 6 µF capacitor?

Yes. TDK’s datasheet lists the exact ordering code at 900 V DC, 6.0 µF and ±10% tolerance. The permitted operating voltage still depends on case temperature and the datasheet derating conditions.

Can it operate at 900 V when the case reaches +135°C?

No such conclusion should be made. For the 900 V group, the datasheet gives an operating voltage of 495 V DC at +135°C, while no voltage derating is required only up to +105°C.

Does Non-Stocked mean the part is globally unavailable?

No. It describes one Mouser Europe snapshot. Global or target-region ATP requires a current written confirmation from TDK or an authorized supplier.

Can another B3272 series code replace this MPN?

Only as a candidate that requires validation. Voltage, capacitance, tolerance, lead spacing, case size, pin count, packaging, thermal limits and commercial terms must all be checked.

What should the RFQ include?

Use the full MPN and specify destination, quantity, required date, packaging, qualification needs and traceability. Request written ATP, committed ship dates, MOQ and multiples, NCNR terms and an updated quotation.
