Diodes PCN-2795 Is Now in Effect: Triage AP3845GMTR-E1 and Validate the AP2139 LDO Replacement

The short answer: Diodes PCN-2795, notified on March 18, 2026, reached its stated September 18 implementation date. The exact PWM-controller part AP3845GMTR-E1 is in Table 1, which offers neither a life-time buy opportunity nor a recommended replacement. Teams with this suffix in an active BOM should identify their exposure now, obtain written order and remaining-stock status from Diodes or an authorized channel, and put any redesign through engineering review. A separate Table 4 LDO, AP2139AK-1.2TRG1, has the manufacturer-recommended AP7354D-12W5-7 as a candidate, but its 150 mA rating is below the former part's 250 mA rating. Neither the PCN nor this article establishes that a substitute is qualified in your circuit.

Checked September 19, 2026. The notice date, implementation date, and the deadlines for specific PCN tables are different events. Regional available-to-promise, distributor lots, accepted new orders, and prices were not independently verified at this check.

Diodes PCN-2795 timeline separating March notification, August last-order date for eligible tables, and September implementation
The August order deadline belongs to eligible life-time-buy tables; it does not create a Table 1 buying window.

What changed in PCN-2795

The decisive source is Diodes' four-page PCN-2795 Rev1, not a search snippet or a distributor's generic lifecycle label. Its notification date is March 18, 2026; its target implementation date is September 18, 2026. It divides affected devices into four tables according to whether Diodes recommends a replacement and whether a life-time buy opportunity is offered. Those categories matter more than the shared EOL headline when deciding whom to call and what to validate.

The notice states an August 26, 2026 last order date and a February 27, 2027 last ship date, subject to availability, for products with a life-time buy opportunity. Tables 1 and 3 have no such opportunity. Therefore, applying the February 2027 ship date to AP3845GMTR-E1 would be a material error. The document also says Diodes may obsolete products in its no-life-time-buy tables without further notification. The date on the document is a manufacturer notice; it is not a live inventory feed, a guarantee of fulfillment for existing purchase orders, or a determination that every authorized distributor has exhausted stock.

AP3845GMTR-E1: the Table 1 response

The exact string AP3845GMTR-E1 appears in Table 1: no recommended replacement and no life-time buy opportunity. The manufacturer's AP384XG data sheet places the AP3845G tape-and-reel ordering option in the SOIC-8 family. This green-mode PWM controller is associated with offline converter and adapter power-supply designs. Its data sheet describes the controller's pin functions, undervoltage lockout, current sense, oscillator timing, output drive, and protection behavior. A similar package or broad functional description is insufficient to qualify another controller.

Start with a suffix-accurate BOM search. Count installed builds, scheduled PCBA demand, field-service requirements, and open purchase orders separately. Confirm that any inventory record really identifies the full AP3845GMTR-E1 ordering code rather than a related AP384XG variant, another packing option, or an unverified cross-reference. Record the purchasing organization, manufacturing site, approved vendor, lot trace, and allocation status in your controlled systems; do not infer an available quantity from a web listing.

Three-step AP3845GMTR-E1 BOM triage: find exact suffix, confirm written channel evidence, qualify redesign
Contain the exact-MPN exposure first, then pursue supply evidence and an engineering-led redesign in parallel.

Ask Diodes or the authorized supplier, in writing, whether already accepted orders will be fulfilled, what traceable finished lots or authorized-channel units remain, whether new orders can be accepted, and what dates and restrictions apply. If a source offers residual material, verify authenticity controls, storage history, moisture handling where relevant, and the commercial terms before treating it as a production solution. These are questions to resolve, not claims that material exists today. Do not promote a third-party suggested cross-reference to an approved alternative merely because its pin count or headline function resembles the outgoing part.

For a redesign candidate, engineering should compare the actual converter conditions against both complete data sheets: supply and startup thresholds, maximum duty-cycle behavior, oscillator components and frequency, current-sense timing, output-drive capability, compensation, fault response, thermal conditions, layout, and validation across the operating range. The candidate remains requires validation until the design owner signs off on bench results, qualification criteria, and any customer or regulatory obligations. Procurement can obtain samples and updated quotation terms while that review runs, but should not change the released BOM ahead of it.

AP2139: a different Table 4 path, not a shortcut

PCN-2795 also lists AP2139AK-1.2TRG1 in Table 4 and recommends AP7354D-12W5-7. This is a separate 1.2 V LDO decision, not a replacement for the PWM controller above. Table 4 offers a life-time buy opportunity, but the published August 26 last-order date has already passed at this check. The February 27, 2027 last-ship date is subject to availability; ask the manufacturer about the status of any existing order rather than assuming new orders remain open.

The electrical comparison is the reason to resist automatic substitution. The AP2138/2139 data sheet specifies 250 mA output current for the older family and lists the exact 1.2 V, SOT-23-5 tape-and-reel option. The AP7354 data sheet specifies a guaranteed 150 mA output current, and its ordering table identifies AP7354D-12W5-7 as the 1.2 V SOT25 output-discharge version. Nominal voltage matches, but the 100 mA rating difference can matter under startup, peak load, temperature, or transient conditions. Package naming alone does not prove the footprint and all control connections can be used unchanged.

Comparison of AP2139AK-1.2TRG1 at 250 mA and manufacturer-recommended AP7354D-12W5-7 at 150 mA
Manufacturer-recommended candidate: compare the complete electrical and application requirements before BOM release.

Engineering should measure or calculate the rail's worst-case continuous and transient load, including downstream startup, then check input headroom, dropout, thermal margin, enable behavior, output discharge, pin mapping, and input/output capacitor requirements. The two data sheets specify different application conditions; a 1.2 V label is not a stability test. Validate the actual board and operating envelope, document the outcome, and only then decide whether the AP7354D candidate can enter the approved vendor list. A recommendation in the PCN is a useful starting point, not evidence of system-level qualification.

A practical purchasing and engineering checklist

  1. Separate the affected lines. Flag AP3845GMTR-E1 as Table 1/no life-time buy/no recommended replacement. Flag AP2139AK-1.2TRG1 as Table 4, and keep AP7354D-12W5-7 in a candidate field until validation. Preserve the full suffix and package in each record.
  2. Reconcile demand. Pull current BOM revisions, work-in-progress, approved spares, committed purchase orders, and forecast horizons. Distinguish genuine inventory on hand from a listing, an allocation, or a quotation.
  3. Request written supply answers. Ask the manufacturer or authorized channel for lot-level availability, order acceptance, delivery terms, traceability, and an updated quotation. Date and archive the reply; avoid adding stock figures across regions or distributors as though they were one global ATP pool.
  4. Open engineering review. For the controller, qualify any redesign candidate against converter-level behavior. For the LDO, use the 250 mA versus 150 mA difference and the pin/capacitor checks as explicit acceptance criteria. Route changes through your normal ECO and customer approval process.
  5. Update the decision log. Record what is manufacturer fact, what is an operational inference, who owns the test, and when a new supply check is due. A purchase order and an engineering sign-off solve different parts of this risk.

If your team needs an exact-MPN availability check or a controlled sourcing route, send Informic the BOM or PCBA requirement for an updated quotation and engineering review. Share only the information your organization is authorized to disclose. We can help frame the questions for an authorized channel; we cannot certify an untested alternative or promise stock from the PCN alone.

What the evidence does—and does not—prove

Manufacturer fact: the notice dates, table classification, exact listed MPNs, and recommended AP2139 replacement come from PCN-2795. The package and electrical figures above come from the manufacturer's data sheets. Judgment: AP3845GMTR-E1 deserves immediate BOM triage because no life-time buy or recommended replacement is offered; the lower-current AP7354D candidate deserves explicit load testing. Recommendation: seek written, dated supply answers and qualify any design change before release. These actions are prudent controls, not assertions that all inventory is gone or that a specific product will fail.

No independently checked September 19 regional ATP, accepted-order list, MOQ, lead time, or comparable same-tier price is available for these exact suffixes. A notice issued in March and implemented yesterday is not a fresh proof of a global shortage. Likewise, the manufacturer calling a part a recommended replacement does not override the differing ratings or your application test plan. Recheck the original documents and supplier response when committing a build.

Frequently asked questions

Is AP3845GMTR-E1 immediately unobtainable?

No. Diodes lists it in Table 1 with no life-time buy opportunity or recommended replacement, but the PCN does not measure remaining authorized-channel stock or confirm whether new orders can be accepted. Seek a dated written answer for the exact suffix.

Does the February 27, 2027 last-ship date apply to AP3845GMTR-E1?

No. That date is for products with a life-time buy opportunity, subject to availability. AP3845GMTR-E1 is in Table 1, which has no such opportunity.

Can AP7354D-12W5-7 be dropped into an AP2139AK-1.2TRG1 design?

Not without validation. Diodes recommends it in Table 4, but the former part is rated 250 mA and the candidate 150 mA. Check actual load, pins, capacitors, enable and discharge behavior, and thermal margin before changing the BOM.

Is September 18 the PCN-2795 notice date?

No. The notice is dated March 18, 2026. September 18, 2026 is its stated implementation date. Those dates should be recorded separately.

What should a buyer request today?

Provide the complete MPN and ask Diodes or an authorized channel for written order acceptance, traceable remaining lots, existing-order status, delivery terms, and an updated quotation. Keep engineering qualification separate from supply confirmation.
